1. Backup all your Endnote Libraries in a separate hard disk before you proceed with installation. If you have any customised output styles (files with .ens extension), you'll need to back them up too.
   
2. Next ensure that you are connected to the NUS Network or you are using NUS VPN if you are outside of campus
   
3. Head to this NUS IT webpage and select the Mac Version of EndNote to download and install

Set Up Cite While Your Write in Word

Once you complete the ENX8 installation, double-click on the Endnote icon to open the application. You can choose to create a brand new library, or open an existing one if you are upgrading from an earlier version.

If you are installing Endnote for the very first time on your Mac, you need to open a blank MS Word document and locate the Endnote tool menu from 'Tools'. Alternatively, choose to have the Endnote toolbar shown in Word menu: go to View > Toolbars >Endnote X8

In MS Word application, go to Preferences > View. Make sure that 'Field codes' is unchecked, and 'Field Shading' is shown 'Always'. This means that any text in your Word document that is linked to an Endnote library will show up with a background shading.
