Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: The Benelli M1 Super 90 sprang forth from the Heckler & Koch 512, which incorporated Benelli’s inertia recoil system; the 512 had a ‘man cutter’ choke which could pattern projectiles into stripes, aptly named for its ability to chop through anything it wanted. Fast forward a few years and you have the M1 Super 90, a famous shotgun, used by professional 3-gun shooters on tactical courses, all the way to competitive sporting clay champions; the inertia system is extremely smooth with minimal maintenance and reduction of recoil as positive attributes. This is a 1989 Super 90 with fixed rifle style sights, a nice matte black finish and 7 shot tube capacity; HK imported M1 Super 90’s can be ‘ghost loaded’ with one in the chamber, another right behind it in the receiver and then whatever you have in the tube. We believe its high condition is enough to label this early HK import ‘collectible’, as the M series is still going strong with its track record, it has gained attention through modern video games and movies, so if you keep it in this condition, you will have invested wisely. If you want the ultimate semi-auto scatter gun for home defense or duty carry, this one will perform reliably and is a little lighter than the 1100 with an alloy receiver. It is well balanced and some of the punch from buckshot or slug shells will be reduced with the rotating bolt face and inertia system.
