The program interface is very basic and includes several clear options for creating recordings; you can select a region of the screen to record, record the entire screen (full screen) or select a single window to record. On top of video recordings, BB FlashBack Express also supports audio recording.
BB FlashBack Express also includes a webcam capture utility which can be useful in itself for things other than screen recording, but combined, allows users to create nice demonstration videos or podcasts.
Video quality can be controlled with the 'Quality' slider in the options dialog. There are several options between 'Min' and 'Max' and frames per second can also be configured. Furthermore, videos can be recorded in different video formats like MPEG
Sound recording options of BB FlashBack Express include selecting an audio source such as a microphone. Audio quality can also be customized with compression, quality, sample rate, etc.
When the program interface isn't needed, it can be minimized to the system tray where it can be accessed after recording has finished.
The following hotkeys may be configured: Record, Record with previous settings, options, stop recording, pause recording and 'stop and save to default file name in default folder'.
Finally, videos can be shared online with Flashback Connect or directly with YouTube. You can also use it to convert finalized videos to other common video playback formats.
BB FlashBack Express can capture screen activity, capture webcam streams, convert video formats, record desktop video and record audio.
