Asmaul Husna
The first pillar of imaan (faith) in Islam is Belief in Allah. As Muslims, we believe in Allah in accordance with His beautiful names and attributes. Allah has revealed His names repeatedly in the Holy Quran primarily for us to understand who He is. Learning and memorizing the names of Allah will help us to identify the correct way to believe in Him. There is nothing more sacred and blessed than understanding the names of Allah and living by them. How do we expect to worship, love, fear and trust our Lord, The Almighty Allah, if we don’t know who He is?
Allah says in the Quran:
Quranic Verses on Asmaul Husna (99 Names of Allah) In Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 180, And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names. 8 www.UnderstandQuran.com Allah Allah mentions Himself by His name Allah on 2699 occasions in the Quran. Allah is the Being Who comprises all the attributes of perfection. He is the one who possesses the best and the noblest qualities imaginable in the highest degree!
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them.. (Quran 7:180)
Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. (Quran 20:8)
He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. (Quran 59:24)
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise.”
(Sahih Bukhari 50:894)
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd number..”

In Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 180,

Also narrated in Surah Taha, Verse 8,
Allâh! Lâ ilâhla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names
And Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 24,
He is Allâh, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names . All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise

In Hadith Sahih Bukhari (50:894),
Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Muhammad SAW said, Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise
In Sahih Muslim (35:6476),
Abu Huraira reported Prophet Muhammad SAW as saying: Verily, there are ninety-nine names for Allah, i.e. hundred excepting one. He who enumerates them would get into Paradise. 22. الْخَافِضُ (Al-Khaafid) – The Reducer. The Abaser, The One who lowers whoever He willed by His Destruction and raises whoever He willed by His Endowment.
23. الرَّافِعُ (Ar-Rafi) – The Elevating One. The Exalter, The Elevator, The One who lowers whoever He willed by His Destruction and raises whoever He willed by His Endowment.
24.الْمُعِزُّ (Al-Mu’izz) – The Honourer-Bestower. He gives esteem to whoever He willed, hence there is no one to degrade Him; And He degrades whoever He willed, hence there is no one to give Him esteem.
25. المُذِلُّ (Al-Muzil) – The Abaser, The Dishonourer, The Humiliator. He gives esteem to whoever He willed, hence there is no one to degrade Him; And He degrades whoever He willed, hence there is no one to give Him esteem.
26. السَّمِيعُ (As-Sami’) – The All-Hearer. The Hearer, The One who Hears all things that are heard by His Eternal Hearing without an ear, instrument or organ.
27. الْبَصِيرُ (Al-Baseer) – The All-Seeing. The All-Noticing, The One who Sees all things that are seen by His Eternal Seeing without a pupil or any other instrument.
28. الْحَكَمُ (Al-Hakam) – The Impartial Judge. The Judge, He is the Ruler and His judgment is His Word.
29. الْعَدْلُ (Al-Adl) – The Embodiment of Justice. The Just, The One who is entitled to do what He does.
30. اللَّطِيفُ (Al-Lateef) – The Knower of Subtleties. The Subtle One, The Gracious, The One who is kind to His slaves and endows upon them.
